i think it's not a matter of whether the people involved think it's a platonic friendship, but rather how the rest of the world views them together. you could be totally just friends with the person but if everyone starts scandalising you and you guys aren't able to laugh it off, then things are bound to get a 'lil awkward aren't they? shar and i differ cos i think it's possible to be hundred percent platonic if the person's yr best friend, cos then you thrash everything out in the open and there's nothing to hide. but twin says if you're so close that you're best friends, you might get a lil too close for comfort and then...yeah.
we discussed whether we'd get jealous if our best guy friends get attached, and if we do, does it mean it wasn't as innocent a friendship as it seemed? i think i'd be jealous but not because of the fact that he's got a girl he's closer to than me, but rather, that he's sharing a level of relationship with someone else that's deeper than what we had. and about drifting apart...its abit inevitable, isnt it, especially if you aren't good friends with the person yr friend hooked up with? i mean, if the guy i like has a female best friend whom i don't know really well, i wouldn't want her to keep popping up when i'm with him...so similarly i'd be discreet and take the hint to move away if my best guy friend's with his girl. but that's beside the point, cos if i don't even trust the guy to be with his female best friend, i wouldn't wanna be together with him in the first place.
haha okay this is so confusing...and it didn't help that we were blasting You Belong With Me plus Forver and Always out loud in the classroom. shucks, my brian's so addled that i told shar, 'look...isn't that tim's guy?' haha if you didnt get that you're as screwed as me.
